In medical pathology, an examination is performed in the laboratory on bodily fluids, organs, or blood in order to diagnose an illness that is already present. The tests may include full blood counts, blood coagulation durations, urinalysis, fecal testing, biopsy inspection, cultures, and communicable diseases screening. These are just some examples of common laboratory tests. Because our veterinary clinic has its own in-house lab, our veterinarians are able to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures in a short amount of time, which enables them to arrive at an appropriate prognosis much quicker.

This is of the utmost significance in cases where the animal in question is really unwell and requires urgent or emergency care. An independent veterinary laboratory may be required to carry out some additional tests due to their level of specialization in some cases.

Our vet clinic offers a wide variety of pathology solutions to the veterinary societies not only in the immediate area but also across the country. A highly skilled staff with skills in histology, morphology, diagnosis, genomic diagnoses, serology, microscopy, haematology, and biochemistry makes up the laboratory’s personnel. Our facility is dedicated to molecular diagnoses, and we provide a wide variety of PCR experiments that may identify diseases in both big and small animals. Additionally, we support exporters with their screening obligations for the export of live animals and genotypes by providing them with New Zealand’s most complete corporate export screening program. This service is offered to commercial exporters.

Our quality management systems involve authorization from International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) to the New Zealand Standard for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for biological testing, as well as accreditation from the Ministry of Primary Industries’ Recognised Laboratory Programme for measuring the export of live animals and germplasm.
